2nd April 2022 - In aid of the Bubble Steam Engine repairs.
As April draws closer and closer we are getting more and more excited. Over the past months we have been reaching out and gathering generous donations from our extensive community. These include Scything Lessons with Larry, Hand Crafted Natural Inks, Fanny's Meadow Festival Tickets, A Weeks Accommodation in the Italian Alps, Copies of David Spero's beautiful publication Settlements with hand printed photographs to accompany, A Box of Pasture Fed Beef from Fivepenny Farm and much much more!
And all of these will be available to purchase at our Promise Auction, in aid of repairs to our beloved Steam Engine!

From 3pm the event will unfold with a glorious buffet of local home cooked food by our very own professional caterer Kirsty! There will also be a Bubble Bar selling our hand-cranked cider, local beer and our delicious apple juice. Into the evening, following the auction itself - which will start at 4pm, there will be live music from some of our favourite Bubble musicians.
For those of you who do not know, our steam engine is 83 years old and has been a pillar of our community for 26 of these, powering our sawmill so that we can produce local, sustainable, fossil fuel free timber!
It is not only a symbol of what Tinkers Bubble is, but is also a living, breathing manifestation of what can be done in the UK today without fossil fuels and outside of large scale industry.
Ol' Steamy is currently undergoing a once in a century refurbishment, the costs of which have escalated far beyond our means. This is why we need your support!
So please join us on Saturday 2nd April to support us and to celebrate community, sustainability, skill sharing and one another.
